Ingredients

  • ½ cup nutritional yeast
  • 3 tbsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp parsley
  • 1 tbsp celery seed (or 2 tbsp celery powder)
  • 2 tsp fine sea salt
  • 2 tsp ground white pepper
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp ground thyme
  • ½ tsp rubbed sage
  • ¼ tsp ground rosemary

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
  2. Store the spice mix in an air-tight container separately from rice, or prep in jars pre-measured with rice for convenience.
  3. To cook, use the ratio: 1 cup rice + 1 tbs seasoning + 2 cups water or broth + 1 tbs butter.
  4. Cook rice as normal.

Notes

Makes about 18 tablespoons of seasoning. Follow the ratio of 1 cup rice to 1 tablespoon of seasoning and multiply depending on how much rice your family eats.
